January 2nd No sooner have the new year celebrations finished and the first business news stories start surfacing and it’s not all good news. Over in the UK the CBI organization is saying that the UK will face a difficult year with increased pressure over credit losses, rising food and energy costs.
The CBI welcomed the new year stating that in 2008 profits are likely to be squeezed, and growth would be tested.
While it’s no surprise to see the continuation of some of last years news stories – its a shame to start off on a sour note. However the CBI isnt alone and 2008 looks to be a further turbulent year for businesses who face increased uncertainty and financial pressures.
